Mosaic draws a more internationally diverse crowd than most of glenwood. I came here recently with a group of friends for their Wednesday night wine flight. The distributor pours four quarter-glasses of wine, describes their bouquets and just generally entertains you. There is also a buffet dinner which was delicious- especially the turkey sliders and buttered green beans. The wine flight and dinner together are only $12 so it's a great deal.
Mosaic is decorated like a moroccan tea house. Electronic music is a recurring theme. There is an active list of parties of different flavors on their website. The crowd can be a little hit or miss since the activities change so much from night to night; there isn't a big crowd of regulars here. But a surprising number of the smart, interesting people I know are fond of this place and stop in on occasion.

Well, it's official! I pretty much love Mosaic!
The space itself is so well partitioned. There's a breezy patio to the left of the entrance where snazzy-looking young couples and the occasional group of hookah-puffers and be found lounging. Take note that train tracks run mere feet away from the patio, which, while giving the patio an exciting urban feel...well, just be prepared to cover your ears.
The doormen have always been courteous and the servers / bartenders are funny and totally cool. After you enter down a long ramp, the dance floor opens up, filled with people shaking it to the global music flavor of the night. Ive heard some Dizzee Rascal there as well as some sexy belly-dance style beats. They even have a bellydancer there some nights, so check their website to see what's happening.
If you keep going back youll run into the bar, a swank lounge and the restrooms. The decor is plush and perfectly lit for romance. If you turn left at the dance floor and go up some stairs there's an even more intimate and romantic room (it's even quiet enough to have a conversation in). Stuffed with pillows, its the perfect place to take a break from the dance floor to check out the spot-lit art lining the walls.
Mosaic also hosts a bi-annual music festival (Spring MusicFest and Fall MusicFest) that focuses on Global Beat DJs, House & Techno. If you're a fan of dancing, drinking and other delightful diversions Mosaic cannot be missed.

I absolutely love this place. The setup is everything that I love in a lounge- tons of plush pillows, excellent sound system that reaches every inch of the building but never overpowers, ample dance floor space, extremely attractive people, the DJ booth in an accessible area, great drinks selections... I'm not exactly sure, but I believe they had hookah offerings outside?
All in all, if you want to feel like Kublai Khan in Xanadu, this is a great place for it. Beautiful, statuesque women in wedge heels, a well-dressed crowd, and a general vibe of happiness and warmth. When I come back to town, I'm going to spin here. Write that down, son.
Must visit on so many different levels!

Mosaic is definitely a hidden treasure of Glenwood South. Upstairs, you have cozy and cuddly low tables, couches, cushions, and lantern lighting. Downstairs, they have a full bar with knowledgeable bartenders, and a dance floor that is often full of people enjoying the live DJ.
They serve many types of cocktails but I would recommend sticking to wine as, compared to many bars nearby, this is really where they shine.
The owner is often on-premises and is quite friendly and social.
The outdoor patio is great for smokers and people-watchers; a few St. Pattys ago a friend and I highly enjoyed being able to relax with a glass of wine while we laughed at the drunken college students wandering in and out of Hibernian.
All in all I only take people I really like to enjoy Mosaic with me. It isn't such a big place, after all ;).
Long story short: This place is fantastic whether you want to impress your friends, get intimate with a date, try a new wine, meet new friends, enjoy nice weather on the outdoor pavillion, or dance the night away with a live DJ. Five Stars..
