Chef Eric Litaker

I have always enjoyed food, be it simple or exquisite and am passionate about creating dishes that will leave my guests with new and exciting flavors. I strive to give my guests an enjoyable and pleasant dining experience

A Charlotte, North Carolina native who grew up in the Dilworth neighborhood, his first cooking experience was at the side of his mother making pasta. He started working in a professional kitchen washing dishes for his uncle at the age of fourteen and has been immersed in restaurants ever since. School of hard knocks you could say.

From there he moved on to different cities and restaurants, learning every aspect of the kitchen. Chef Eric opened the Comet Grill with his parents and during their ownership he won awards for his food through Citysearch and Creative Loafing. Towards the end of his stay at the Comet, Chef Eric moved to Providence Cafe in Myers Park where he worked his way from line cook to Executive Chef.

After ten years sadly Providence Cafe closed. Since then he has been searching for a kitchen to call home which he has found in Tanners Bistro and Lounge.
